One Simple Thing to Transform Your 2019 beyond Making Resolutions

There’s a simple thing to do that can transform your 2019 beyond making resolutions. Every year for decades, I’ve done something to prepare for an awesome New Year — I spent a week evaluating what happened and what I accomplished in the outgoing year and what I want to accomplish in all areas of my life in the New Year. It has taken lots of time, energy and focus each year, but always was worth the effort.

The past three years, however, I’ve done something much simpler, easier to accomplish and even more powerful. It’s playful, but it’s also serious—it creates a strong, magnetic attraction and provides tremendous alignment and guidance. Like a north star.

It builds an energetic structure that your life and your business will naturally expand into…and creates breakthroughs in the areas you need them most.

It’s incredibly powerful.

And it’s SO much better than “making resolutions.”

I want to share with you how you can use this one simple yet extremely potent creative exercise…and shape your own amazing year around it. I’ll also share what mine is and what led to it for 2019.

For the last two years, I’ve been keenly aware that I need to open my whole body and being to greater love energy. Two weeks ago, I happened across a passage in a spiritual book. In this passage, a spiritual master was advising a student. The master directed the student to do a simple meditation to connect to her soul and demand that her soul pour the soul’s love into the personality and to keep flowing that love until the student knew herself to BE that love.

Wow! I was electrified and knew instantly that this was the direction I was to take as well! So, for the past two weeks, I have been starting my day with this meditation. I connect with my soul vibration which I know how to do from years of meditation and prayer practice. I demand that my soul fill my personality with the soul’s love until I know myself to be that love. I am so energized and filled with love and joy! I can’t wait to see all the ways that this practice transforms my life.

I have been inspired lately by Shonda Rhime’s book, Year of Yes. I wrote a post about Shonda’s book and how that decision to say yes to everything for a year transformed her fear of public speaking.

2019 for me is the “Year of Being Love”

So, in 2019, I am going to start every single day with this meditation for an entire year. I am going to look for ways daily to express more love to everyone I know, meet or encounter. The toughest one of all – I am going to love myself more than I ever have. I am demanding that my soul pour it’s love into my body, brain and mind!

This theme and this daily practice are going to transform me in ways I can’t even possibly imagine.

I am giddy with excitement to do this every day. I am going to do this when I feel like it. I am going to do it when it’s the last thing I want to do. I am all in!

So that’s my theme for 2019.

What’s yours?

Maybe you’d like to transform your life in some way? Maybe you’d like to have more impact on your company, family, community or organization?

How about The Year of Speaking Up? Or the Year of Expressing Yourself? Or the Year of Being the Leader?

Pick a theme, one bold theme that you know will change your life. Pick one that you are excited to work towards daily, weekly, monthly… easily and effortlessly. Intend it everyday. Create a ritual, meditation or prayer that involves your theme that you can do when you awaken each morning. You can even do it in bed before arising. Seek an opportunity each day to act on that theme.  Then watch as life and business fill you up with that theme.

If your theme involves some form of self-expression, communication, public speaking, speech improvement or leadership presence, I’d be thrilled to help you live your Year of ____!
